 School Tools
Throughout August, WSOC-TV in partnership with Communities in Schools, leads a community outreach project to collect supplies for children. Communities in Schools is the nation's largest and most effective drop-out prevention network, helping young people stay in school, successfully learn, and prepare for life by connecting needed community resources with schools.
Area viewers and businesses are asked to contribute new pens, pencils, paper, notebooks, book bags, and other school supplies. School supplies collected in each county are distributed to children in that county who may otherwise be unable to start school with the necessary supplies.
Bonded Logistics lent a helping hand by providing warehousing, packaging, and other logistical services for the program.
 Samaritan's Feet
Samaritan's Feet is an international ministry focused on bringing a life-changing message of compassion and hope to impoverished youth and by personally placing a new pair of socks and athletic shoes on their feet and demonstrating Christ's love for them through a simple yet profound act of humility and servant-leadership by washing their feet. Samaritan's Feet seeks to provide 10 million pairs of shoes to 10 million people over a 10 year time period.
Samaritan's Feet is unique in its emphasis on modeling servant leadership through Shoes of Hope distributions. These events are generally one day projects where volunteers welcome participants, share the Story of Hope, wash their feet, and provide them with a new pair of socks and shoes. Our distributions also provide unique opportunities for our volunteers to engage the recipients in sharing a message of encouragement and hope. Through these projects, Samaritan's Feet has distributed nearly 2.5 million pairs of shoes in 52 countries, 25% of which are distributed in the United States.
Bonded Logistics is an integral partner in providing logistics services to Samaritan's Feet. We assisted in receiving, warehousing, consolidation, handling, and inventory control of shoes. Outbound, we provide container and trailer loading, as well as documentation for shipments and exports of shoes to points around the world on behalf of Samaritan's Feet. It has been one of our most rewarding experiences in the history of our company.
