The Bonded Logistics Community Outreach team just wrapped up a very rewarding volunteer opportunity with Samaritan’s Feet. Our team spent several hours preparing shoes at the organization’s Charlotte warehouse for distribution to people in need.
The event allowed everyone to get a behind the scenes understanding of the work that Samaritan’s Feet does throughout the world.
“It was very rewarding,” said Mary Kavanagh. “Knowing that we had a part in putting shoes on someone’s feet is awesome. This makes me want to do more!”
Others at the event, including Sally Bradley, had similar feelings toward the experience. “I had a blast,” Bradley said.
Samaritan’s Feet was founded by Manny Ohomme. Manny’s vision and passion to serve grew as a result of his own personal experience. Like the children the ministry serves, Manny was once a Nigerian child without shoes when a “Good Samaritan” offered him his first pair of shoes. He never forgot that gift and today he is doing his part to give back. Today, Samaritan’s Feet and its many volunteers serve millions in nations all over the world.
