Bonded Pac Debuts Print Registered Film Bundling Services

Combination shrink film tray wrapper and heat tunnel enhances diverse portfolio of contract packaging capabilities

CHARLOTTE, NC (October 29, 2019) – Bonded Pac, the contract packaging division of third-party logistics (3PL) provider Bonded Logistics, continues to enhance its portfolio of packaging capabilities with the introduction of high-speed print registered film bundling services for food and beverage manufacturers.

“It’s always an exciting time when we introduce new packaging services,” states Jon Hayward, Vice President of Bonded Pac. “We have been getting a lot of inquiries about registered film bundling recently, and made the decision to make the investment in this type of equipment.  We have already had our first run with a local beverage manufacturer and everything went great.  We see a lot of opportunity with this service going forward.”

Print registered film bundling has become a premier way of packaging food and beverage products into multi-packs and variety packs.  This type of package provides an attractive location for retail marketing messages at a fraction of the cost of traditional paperboard packaging.  The finished product is an easy to carry tray pack that is appealing to the consumer.  Multi-packs and variety packs are a great way to introduce new products, attract new customers, and increase sales.  They are seen in almost every retail environment, from grocery to superstores like Walmart and Target.  It’s also an excellent way to gain entry into big-box stores like Costco and Sam’s Club because its unique product offering.

“This type of bundling service is becoming more and more popular,” adds Hayward, who has been at the helm of Bonded Pac since 2010.  “We do a lot of variety pack and multi-pack work for clients in the food and beverage industry.  Previously, we only had the ability to do clear film due to equipment capabilities.  This new machinery not only adds capabilities, but it also significantly increases throughput and overall capacity for our customers.”

The equipment, a Brandpac BPTW 5000 Series system from ARPAC, is a combination shrink film tray wrapper and heat tunnel that is capable of running up to 70 cases/trays per minute, depending on the height and weight of the product.  The set adds to an expansive list of machinery for contract packaging services that also include assembly and kitting, liquid filling, retail displays, shrink sleeving, and rework.

“Bonded Pac continues to find ways to grow our contract packaging business,” says Scott Carr, President of Bonded Logistics.  “This new print registered film bundling equipment has already shown promise in the short time that we’ve had it.  It’s just one more way we can let our clients and prospective clients know that we’ve got the expanded capability to accommodate their packaging needs.”
