Overview
As a Mixing Room Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in the mixing room to produce various products. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and adherence to safety protocols. You will work closely with production teams to ensure efficient and accurate mixing processes.

- Weigh and measure raw materials accurately, ensuring exact compliance with formulation recipes.
- Use mixing equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to produce consistent batches of products.
- Monitor mixing processes to ensure proper blending and consistency of materials.
- Conduct quality checks on finished mixes to verify adherence to specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the mixing room, following sanitation protocols to prevent contamination.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- Keep detailed records of batch production, including ingredients used, mixing times, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials for production.
- Assist in developing and implementing new mixing processes or improvements to existing processes.
- Safely work with hazardous materials following documented safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face shields and respirators.
- Oversee hazardous material disposal following standard operating procedures.
- Train new employees in mixing procedures and safety protocols as needed.
- Work within a cell team and be willing to cross-train on other positions within the cell.
Skills
- Possess basic computer skills and the ability to perform floor transactions in the production management system.
- Proven experience as a mixing room technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mixing equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as SOPs and equipment manuals.
- Excellent diligence and precision in measuring and mixing materials.
- Basic math skills for calculating ingredient ratios and batch sizes.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and periodically lift/move heavy materials.
- Medical clearance to safely wear a respirator.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing production schedules.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00/hour and up based on experience
Expected hours: 40 per week
