Maintenance Technician (5224)

Location: 5224 Gibbon Road, Charlotte

Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment (form, fill and seal types), troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery, while adhering to safety protocols and documenting all activities

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will…..

  • Preventative Maintenance:
    • Implement and maintain a schedule for routine maintenance tasks on all equipment.
    • Inspect machinery and equipment for potential problems and wear and tear.
    • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspections.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues with production equipment
    • Repair or replace faulty components and equipment. 
    • Document all repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Installation and Modification:
    • Install new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
    • Modify existing equipment to improve performance of and address specific needs.
  • Safety:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Other Duties:
    • Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies.
    • Train other employees on maintenance procedures.
    • Communicate effectively with production staff and management.
    • May be required to work overtime or on weekends, depending on production needs.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Problem Solving Skills:
    • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Other Skills:
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to follow instruction and procedures accurately.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
    • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Some experience in industrial maintenance or related field is preferred.
  • Certifications or training in specific areas (e.g…electrical, hydraulics) may be beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25-$30/hour and up based on experience

Expected hours: 40 per week
